Culture of Life Ministries

Provide free health services to all in our community so no one goes without healthcare.

Many of the residents living in the Rio Grande Valley live below the federal poverty level. Presently, the population is approximately 1,254,029 residents and of that number, approximately 382,592 of those residents are living BELOW poverty level. Gaps in medical care are caused by differences in income, race and ethnicity, as well as other factors. This means that many people cannot afford health care and as a result usually go without treatment. Primary medical care has an overall impact on the health of a community in preserving good health, preventing morbidity and hospitalizations from chronic and communicable diseases. We also help address unmet needs beyond diagnosis and treatment through education, motivating patients regarding a healthy lifestyle, and by assessing their needs. Our clinic seeks to afford healthcare to all who need it without reservation.

Our clinic offers a wide variety of services in order to adequately serve the needs of our community: Family Medicine, Primary Care, Specialty Consultation, Blood-work / Lab Testing, Ultrasounds/Sonograms, Home Visits, Nursing & Wound Care, Blood Pressure Checks, Blood Sugar Checks, PPD/Tuberculosis Checks, Echocardiography, Heart Stress Testing, Endoscopy/Colonoscopy, Women’s Health/Prenatal Care, IUD Removal, Lung Function Testing, Fertility Teaching/Training, Addiction Counseling, Hospice Counseling, Advance Directive / Living Will and Prayer. Being a ministry that relies solely on donations and grants we cannot continue our work without the support of our generous donors. While our doctors, nurses, and staff all work on a volunteer basis the general costs of medical supplies, overhead costs of our building, and patient procedures continues to grow and requires funds in order to support them.

This grant would help us to continue in our efforts to reach the tens of thousands of people in our community who don’t have access to medical care. Every day we continue to grow as more and more people hear about us and come in for treatment. We are seeking to build a procedure center next to our clinic to better facilitate our community so minor procedures can be done on site. Another impact being made is for pre-med students at local colleges and universities being able to come and learn more about medicine as they get hands on training with patients and doctors they work with. Our clinic is serving patients in need as well as providing education to students who are seeking to work in the medical field.
